Hub Parameters

size
The size of the wheel hub is actually the diameter of the hub, and people often say that the 15-inch hub and the 16-inch hub are the size (diameter) of the hub. Generally, on the car, the wheel hub size is large, the tire flatness ratio is high, it can play a good tension effect visually, and the stability of the vehicle handling will also increase, but then comes the additional problem of increased fuel consumption.

width
Hub width is also commonly known as J value, the width of the hub directly affects the choice of tires, the same size of tires, J value is different, the selected tire flatness ratio and width are also different.

PCD and Hole position
The professional name of PCD is called pitch diameter, which refers to the diameter between the fixed bolts in the center of the hub, the general hub most of the holes are 5 bolts and 4 bolts, and the distance of the bolts is also different, so we can often hear 4X103, 5X114.3, 5X112 such a name, to 5X114.3 as an example, it means that the PCD of this hub is 114.3mm, and the hole position is 5 bolts. When choosing a wheel, PCD is one of the most important parameters, for safety and stability considerations, it is best to choose a wheel hub consistent with the original car for upgrades.

Offset
Offset (also called offset or ET) is the distance between the mounting surface and the centerline of the hub, and this parameter can usually be found on the back of the hub. In layman’s terms, it is whether the hub is indented or convex outward after modification. For the average car, the ET value is positive and negative for a few vehicles and some jeeps.

Center hole
The center hole is the part used to fix the connection with the vehicle, that is, the position of the hub center and the hub concentric circle, here the diameter size affects whether we can install the hub to ensure that the wheel rim geometric center can match the hub geometric center (although the hub positioner can convert the hole pitch, but this modification is risky and needs to be tried carefully).
