Buying wheels online and having them installed at a physical store has become a mainstream choice—it’s convenient and ensures professional service. The complete process mainly consists of five steps, making the whole experience efficient and worry-free.
The first step is preparation before placing an order. First, confirm your vehicle’s core wheel parameters, including diameter, PCD bolt pattern, offset (ET value), and center bore diameter, to ensure compatibility with your original vehicle. Choose a reputable online store that offers offline installation, and prioritize products with VIA/JWL certifications to avoid quality risks.
The second step is receiving the goods and making an appointment. After receiving the wheels, check for scratches or deformation on the surface and verify that all accessories are complete. Book an installation appointment through the merchant’s app or by phone, specifying the wheel model and your arrival time. Some platforms automatically send appointment reminders after delivery, saving you the hassle of waiting.
The third step is on-site construction. Upon arrival at the store, hand over the wheels to the technician, who will first clean rust and dirt from the vehicle’s hub flange. The technician will remove the old wheels in a diagonal sequence, manually tighten the bolts initially when installing the new wheels, and then use a torque wrench to fasten them to the vehicle-specific torque value.
The fourth step is core testing. After installation, a dynamic balance test is a must. Counterweights are added to ensure the rim balance accuracy is ≤5g, preventing vibration while driving. If the wheel specifications are changed, an additional four-wheel alignment is required to adjust camber and toe-in parameters, ensuring driving stability.
The fifth step is inspection and follow-up. Test-drive the vehicle to check for abnormal noises or deviation. Once confirmed okay, you can leave. It’s recommended to return to the store after driving 50-100km to recheck the bolt tightness, prolonging the wheels’ service life.
A tip: Choose stores equipped with professional equipment and certified technicians. You can properly supervise the entire installation process to ensure each step complies with standard procedures.
